Offgrid
A survival kit that works with zero bars.
Illustrated guides, first aid, practice drills, a supplies stockpile, tools, and encrypted messaging between phones over Bluetooth. Everything lives on your phone. Nothing is ever sent over the internet.

Guides
Know what to do before you need to
- Disasters: earthquake, flash flood, tornado, hurricane, tsunami, lightning, heat waves, wildfire smoke, stranded in snow, radiation, chemical releases, carbon monoxide, evacuating, food when the power is out, shutting off utilities.
- Water, fire, shelter, navigation, signals and sanitation: from a sand-and-charcoal filter to taking a bearing with a map and compass, plus which wild berries you can eat and which can kill.
- 24 first-aid quick references: severe bleeding, CPR, choking, heart attack, stroke, asthma, seizures, allergic reactions, head injuries and more.
- Every guide is written from public sources like the CDC, Red Cross, FEMA and the US Army survival manual, and cites them.

Drills
Practice the moment, not just the facts
Fifteen "what would you do?" scenarios walk you through a choking friend, chest pain at a cookout, a flooded road, lightning on a ridge, a quake at home and more. Every choice explains why it's right or wrong, and links to the full guide. Your best score is kept on the phone, so you can see the skills stick.

Comms
Talk without towers
- Pair in person by scanning a QR code, then message each other over Bluetooth whenever you're in range.
- Messages hop between paired phones until they arrive, up to six hops, and expire after three days. Phones that carry them can't read them.
- One-tap check-ins: I'm OK, Need help, On the move, Sheltering. Sent to everyone at once.
- End-to-end encrypted with the Noise protocol (X25519, ChaCha20-Poly1305). Keys never leave your phone.

How Offgrid keeps everything on your phone
| No network | Android release builds remove the internet permission, so the system refuses every connection. On iOS the app contains no networking code, SDKs or analytics. |
|---|---|
| No backups to anyone | App data is excluded from cloud and device backups. Export is the one way data leaves, and only when you ask. |
| Encrypted at rest | Files are sealed by your phone's own encryption whenever it's locked. Comms keys sit in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore. |
| App Lock | Optional Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint or passcode. The app blurs itself in the app switcher. |
| Permissions | Bluetooth, only when you turn Comms on. The camera, only the first time you open the pairing scanner; codes are read on the phone and no images are kept. That's all. |
