Eight Twelve Labs is an independent software studio. We build advanced, privacy-first apps that are genuinely useful in the real world, and that people actually want to use.

What we build

We started with Offgrid, a survival kit that works with zero bars, with encrypted phone-to-phone messaging over Bluetooth. Next up is a fully offline Bible. After that, wherever the next good idea leads: the outdoors, games, tools. We don't stay in one lane.

How we build

Privacy is a design decision, not a settings page. Whatever an app holds, we treat it as yours: we take only what a feature needs, encrypt what matters, and keep it on your device whenever we can. Many of our apps work with no signal at all.

We sweat the hard parts, like real cryptography, on-device processing and native performance, so the app itself feels simple.

The name

Eight Twelve is personal. It's a date that means the world to us, and it lines up with John 8:12, a verse about light in the dark. That's the idea behind what we make.
